As director of the Institute, I am leading our current research programme, which is entitled Sweden and the Future. It builds on our previous studies on the tensions between population change and public policy.  My publications include studies of global migration, the European Social Model and Swedish policy reforms.
Current research project at the Institute: Welfare state financing, Sustainable taxes in a global context, REConciling WOrk and WElfare, Are the European health-care systems converging?, Childhood conditions and marginalisation.
Previous employment: Swedish Institute for Social Research, Stockholm University. I chaired the Swedish Welfare Commission between 1999 and 2001.
In 1990, I defended my dissertation Pension Rights in Welfare Capitalism.
